QUOTES
Head Coach Bobby Bowden
(On practice)
"We out today in full pads and worked on our kicking game. We spend half the
time on our kicking game, probably about an hour. Some at full speed,
kickoff returns, kick coverage, punt coverage, punt block, punt return, then
we went into just team stuff. We did not do any scrimmaging other than what
we did on the kicking game. So it was a good practice to get some thing
done. Tomorrow is the luncheon, we will not practice tonight, then of course
we will have our last scrimmage tomorrow night."
(Who will the punter be?)
"No I haven't decided. As I watch them, they are all punting pretty darn
good but we are going to have to select one of them. Soon I hope to come up
with an answer to that."
(On Cismesia going 2-of-6 in field goals)
"He didn't hit them as good today. He had a couple of them close that he
missed but I don't know what goes through their head."
(On tomorrow night's scrimmage)
"We will let the scout team simulate Miami defenses and the plays that they
run and just try to get a good look at them."
(Biggest concern before Miami game)
"Staying healthy again, you look out there and (Alex) Boston the starting
end hadn't practiced in three weeks. I can't see him being ready to go
unless he makes a miraculous recovery. Then I see (Darrell) Burston over
there on the sideline, so there are your two starting ends."
LB Marcus Ball
(What have people told you about the Miami game?)
"What I already know. It is super intense, it is super loud and it is a very
fast game."
(On his goals)
"The reason why I came here was to play. I know anywhere I would go in the
country there is going to be a competition, whether you are going to play or
not. I'm out here with the best guys in the nation. So I knew I'd have the
competition. I wasn't expecting to be the best and I wasn't expecting to be
the worst. I was expecting to come in and learn and be the best that I can
be. You can get better everyday and that is what I'm doing."
(On playing special teams)
"It is very important to me because special teams are a very important part
of the game. You can't win a game without special teams. It is a privilege
to be a part of the special teams. It is important to me because I'm picking
up on the game, being on the field, the speed of the game and all of that."
