Bobo To Speak At Atlanta Coach of the Year Clinic, Feb., 2-4
ATHENS University of Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo will speak
along with several college head coaches including Ohio State's Jim Tressel,
Clemson¹s Tommy Bowden, and Arizona's Mike Stoops at the Atlanta
Coach-of-the-Year Clinic, Feb. 2-4, at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest.
The national clinic, founded years ago by the late Michigan State coach
Duffy Daugherty and Oklahoma¹s Bud Wilkinson, attracts come of the country's
top college and high school coaches to its series of sessions around the
country.
The Atlanta Clinic is affiliated with director Chuck Rohe and former
Tennessee and Pitt coach Johnny Majors. Managed by UGA Coordinator of High
School Relations Ray Lamb, the clinic will also feature Coach Tommy West of
Memphis, Pat Hill of Fresno State, Shane Montgomery of Miami of Ohio,
Georgia Tech defensive coordinator John Tenuta, and Atlanta Falcons
linebacker coach Brian VanGorder.
"This is one of the best speaking lineups we have had," said Lamb.
"These coaches will be talking about the latest trends in both offense and
defense and we are excited about our clinic lineup and their wealth of
football knowledge. We are expecting a big turnout."
Lamb also said the speakers' lineup will include Phil Jones, head coach at
Shorter College, and several outstanding high school coaches‹including
Dallas Allen, Westlake High, Atlanta; Bobby Robinson, McIntosh Co. Academy,
Darien; Lee Chomskis, Lincoln County High; Phil Strickland, Gaffney, S. C.
and Jim Kremer, Calhoun High, Calhoun.
Bobo will speak on "Georgia's play-action passing game."
