Marks on Honorable Mention All-America list
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee quarterback Clint Marks was named an
Honorable Mention Preseason All-American by Street & Smith's College
Football 2006 Yearbook. The publication, which hit the newsstands this week,
also recognized offensive lineman Germayle Franklin, defensive back Bradley
Robinson, and punter Colby Smith.
Marks, who became the first signal caller in school history last year to
record back-to-back 2,000-yard passing seasons, enters the 2006 campaign
ranked third on the all-time passing list with 5,425 yards. The senior, who
is No. 2 at Middle Tennessee in 200-yard and 300-yard passing games, has
started 21 straight contests.
Franklin, Robinson, and Smith were all picked by Street & Smith's as
preseason All-Sun Belt players. A starter in 28 straight games, Franklin was
an all-conference lineman in 2005 after collecting a team and personal-best
118 knockdowns.
Robinson, an honorable mention all-league pick a year ago, led the Blue
Raiders and tied for the SBC lead with five interceptions and seven pass
breakups.
Smith earned all-conference honors in 2005 after averaging a career-best
42.1 yards a punt and placing a personal-high 19 kicks inside the opponents
20-yard line.
The Blue Raiders will report to camp on August 3 to begin preparing for the
season opener on August 31 against conference foe Florida International.
Kickoff is set for 6 PM.
