Spring Awards
Head coach Joe Tiller announced the Purdue football team’s annual spring award winners following the Black & Gold Game at Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday.
Tight end Jerry Wasikowski and cornerback Brandon King received the Most Improved Award.
The Newcomer Award (given to an offensive and defensive player who, in his first spring practice, makes the most progress) went to running back Jaycen Taylor and cornerback Aaron Lane.
The Pit Bull Award (given to an offensive and defensive player who exemplifies and sustains tenacity and intense play throughout spring practice) went to center Robbie Powell and defensive tackle Jermaine Guynn.
Defensive end Anthony Spencer received the Hammer Award, presented to the outstanding hitter of the spring.
In the Black & Gold Game, the Black won 23-17.
